Ingredients needed for making Aloo Mutter Gravy
2 medium potatoes (boiled and cubed)
1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
2 medium onions (finely chopped)
2 green chillies
2 tomatoes (pureed)
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
2 tbsp oil or ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
Method for making Aloo Mutter Masala
1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds allow them to splutter.
2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Next add the slit green chillies.
3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
4. Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the masala.
5. Mix in turmeric, red chili, coriander powder, and salt.
6. Add boiled potato cubes and green peas. Stir well to coat them with the masala.
7. Pour in about ½ cup of water (adjust for desired consistency) and simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with chapathi, poori, naan, or steamed rice for a comforting and flavorful meal.
