Sorakkai Dosai | Bottlegourd Dosa | Healthy No Fermentation Dosa Recipe

Bottlegourd Dosa or Sorakkai Dosai is an easy and tasty "No Fermentation Dosa" recipe which is good for diabetic and hypertensive people. Here Bottlegourd is ground along with raw rice to give you a healthy dosa. Bottlegourd has got many health benefits and it is good to consume it regularly. Sorakkai Dosai

 Ingredients needed for making Sorakkai Dosa

Raw rice - 2.5 cups
Bottlegourd / Sorakkai - 1 cup
Ginger - 1 inch
Green chillies - 4 nos.
Chopped onions - 1 cup
A sprig of curry leaves  

Method for making Sorakkai Dosa

1. Wash and soak the raw rice in water for 1 hour.

2. Peel  the outer skin of sorakkai and then remove the seeds and cut them into fine pieces.

3. Take the chopped bottlegourd in a mixie add the ginger and green chillies and the soaked raw rice grind everything together by adding enough water. 

4. The batter will be watery in consistency. If you want you can add little water and make it just like a dosa batter.

5. Now add the chopped onions and curry leaves and add enough salt.

6. Heat a dosa tawa , pour the batter and swirl just like you do for rava dosa. If the batter is thick you can just spread the batter with a ladle and make like thick dosas.

7. If you want to get crispy dosas the batter should be watery in consistency.

8. Flip the dosa and cook on thye other side. Repeat this with the remaining batter. 

9. Sorakkai dosa is ready to be served with any chutney of your choice.
