Chennai Beach Verkadalai Sundal | Boiled Peanut Chaat in Beach Style | Oil Free Groundnut Chaat

Verkadalai Sundal or Peanut Chat is the most popular Chennai Street Food which is available in Marina Beach, Elliots Beach and almost in all the Popular parks in Chennai City. Here I have given you the recipe of Beach style Verkadalai Sundal which is very easy to prepare and also loved by people of all ages. This Boiled Peanut chaat is a healthy oil free salad good for growing kids and even for elderly people. Helps to reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and diabetes. 

Ingredients for making Peanut Chaat 

Raw peanut / Verkadalai - 1 cup
Green Chillies - 2 nos.
Chopped Onions - 1/2 cup
Chopped Tomatoes - 1/2 cup
Grated Carrot - 3 tbsp.
Grated Raw Mango - 3 tbsp.
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp.
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp.
Salt as required.

Method for making Beach Style Peanut Sundal 

1. Wash and soak the raw peanuts in water for 3 hours or overnight.

2. Pressure cook the peanuts with the required amount of salt and water for  3 to 5 whistles.

3. Take the boiled peanuts in a mixing bowl then add the chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, grated carrot, raw mango and mix everything together.

4. Next add the red chilly powder and lemon juice and salt as required and mix well.

The delicious and yummy Peanut Chaat is ready to be served.

Variation: You can also add grated cucumber and gram flour Sev or omapodi.
