Vazhaikkai Tawa Roast | Raw banana Tawa fry Quick and Easy Varuval recipe


Vazhakkai Tawa Roast is an easy to make crispy spicy varuval recipe which goes well with any South Indian Lunch Variety. Here the raw bananas are sliced lengthwise and coated with masalas. Serve this Raw Banana Roast with Sambar rice or any variety rice of your choice.

Vazhaikkai Tawa Roast | Raw banana Tawa fry



Ingredients for making Vazhakkai varuval / Raw banana Chops

Raw banana - 2 nos
Turmeric powder - 1 1/2 tsp.
Red chilli powder - 3 tsp.
Coriander powder - 4 tsp.
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp.
Tamarind paste - 1 tbsp.
2 sprigs of Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Oil as required.

Method for making Vazhakkai varuval / Raw Banana Chops

1. Peel the skin of the raw banana, cut them lengtwise to thick rectangle or square shaped slices.

 2. Take a bowl add the masala powders, ginger garlic paste, salt and tamarind paste and mix well to form a smooth paste.

3. Now coat the Raw banana slices with the masala paste on all sides.

4. Heat oil in a Tawa add the curry leaves, now add the coated raw banana slices and roast well to golden brown colour. Add oil if required. 

5. After it is fully roasted turn it to the other side and fry till it gets crispy.

Now the Crispy spicy Vazhakkai Tawa Fry is ready to be served with any Variety rice or white rice with Sambar and Rasam.
