Madurai Poondu Chutney is one of the easy to make Chutney recipe of Madurai which can be done without using the stove. I learned this recipe from one of my neighbour who is a native of Madurai. This recipe is good for digestion and also for lactating mothers. Serve this Poondu Chutney with Idli and dosa and enjoy.

Ingredients needed for making Madurai Poondu Chutney

Peeled Garlic - 1 cup
Red chilli Powder - 4 tbsps
A sprig of curry leaves
Salt as needed
Gingely oil - 4 tbsp.

Method for making Madurai Poondu Chutney


Grind all the ingredients together in a mixie to a fine paste. Instead of red chilli powder you can also use your homemade chilly powder. Now the spicy Poondu chutney is ready to be served with idli or dosa. The flavour and aroma of the garlic will be loved by everyone.
