Kalyana Veetu Vazhakkai Varuval | Raw Banana Roast Recipe | Crispy Raw Banana Chops tossed in Masala Spices

Kalyana Veetu Vazhakkai Fry


Ingredients for making Vazhakkai varuval

Raw banana - 1 no
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp.
Saunf - 1tsp.
Chilly powder - 1 tsp.
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
Sambar Powder - 1 tsp.
Ginger-Garlic paste - 2 tbsp.
2 sprigs of Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Oil as required.

Method for making Vazhakkai varuval

1. Peel the skin of the raw banana, cut them into thin vertical slices.

2. Take the Raw banana slices in wide botommed vessel add the ginger garlic paste, salt, chilly powder, sambar powder and turmeric powder and mix them well so that the raw banana slices coat well with the masala on all sides.

3. Heat oil in a kadai add the mustard seeds, saunf and curry leaves, now add the coated raw banana slices and saute well. Add oil if required.

4. Now add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water and close with a lid and allow to cook in medium flame till the water gets absorbed.

5. After it is fully cooked you can add oil around and roast in a low flame for 10 to 15 minutes till gets crispy.
