Spicy Beans Poriyal in Andhra Style | Beans Masala Stir Fry


 Beans Masala Poriyal is one of the healthy lunch side dish recipe which goes well with Sambar, rasam or any variety rice recipe. Long beans are good for people of all ages. They are rich source of fiber and and Vitamin B. It is one of the low calorie vegetable which reduces the LDL cholesterol level, bloog sugar and increases healthy gut bacteria. Beans Poriyal in Andhra Style



Ingredients for making Beans Masala Poriyal

Beans - 1/2 kg
Onion - 1
Chilli powder - 1 tsp.
Mustard seeds - 1tsp.
Split urad dal - 2 tsp.
A pinch of turmeric powder.
A sprig of curry leaves

To grind

Grated coconut - 2 tbsp.
Garlic - 6 cloves
Red chilly - 3 nos.
Sesame seeds - 1 tsp. 


Method for making Beans Masala Poriyal


1.  Wash the green beans and then chop them into fine pieces.  Chop the onions into fine pieces.

2.  Take a pan and dry roast the ingredients given under "To grind". Allow this to cool and grind them to a coarse powder.

3. Heat oil in a kadai add the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter next add the urad dal when the dal turns brown add the curry leaves.

3. Next add the finely chopped onions and saute till they become transparent.

4. Now add the chopped beans and saute well.

5. Add salt and turmeric powder sprinkle some water and close it with a lid and cook in a medium flame.

6. It will take just 3 to 5 minutes for it to be cooked. When the beans are cooked add the ground sesame coconut powder and saute well for 5 minutes. Avoid overcooking to retain the green color.

Now the Spicy healthy greeny beans poriyal is ready for lunch.
