Cabbage Green Peas Curry | Cabbage Peas Masala Stir fry | Punjabi Cabbage Sabzi

Cabbage Peas Curry is a simple light spiced Indian Vegetable Curry which tastes well with white rice and chapathi. This is an excellent side dish for chapathi, phulkas, poori and dal rice. Here shredded cabbage and green peas are blended well with spices to enhance the aroma and taste. You can also add chopped capsicum, grated cauliflower and chopped potatoes to make it more nutritious.

Cabbage Peas Masala Stir fry


Ingredients needed to make Cabbage Peas Masala Stir fry 

  • Shredded Cabbage - 4 cups
  • Fresh peas - 1 cup
  • Chopped Onions  1 cup 
  • Chopped tomato - 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp.
  • Coriander powder- 1 tsp.
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp.
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp.
  • Oil as required
  • salt as required
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing


Instructions to make Cabbage Peas Masala Stir fry 


1. Rinse the cabbage in water and wash it well. Then chop them into fine pieces or you can even shred them.

2. Heat oil in a kadai and splutter the cumins.

3. Then add ginger-garlic paste. Stir and saute till the raw smell disappears.

4. Add chopped onions and saute till they become translucent.then add tomatoes and saute till they become mushy.

5. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and coriander powder.

6. Stir and saute till the oil releases from sides of the mixture.

7. Add the shredded or chopped cabbage and green peas.

8. Stir well and add salt and close it with a lid.

9. If needed you can sprinkle little water and cook till the veggies are fully cooked. 

10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.

Serve cabbage peas curry with chapatis, pooris, variety rice or with bread toast.
