Chapathi and Dal Tadka

Chapathi Dal



Ingredients for making Dal Recipe

Toor dal - 1cup
onion - 1
Tomato - 1
4 pods of garlic
1 green chillies
A pinch of turmeric powder
A pinch of hing
Salt to taste

For seasoning

2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp jeera
Red chillies - 2
A sprig of coriander leaves and curry leaves.

Preparation of Dal Tadka 

1. Wash the Toor dal in water and take this in a pressure cooker with all the ingredients except given under seasoning, add 3 cups of water and cook for 3 whistles.

2. Heat oil in a kadai, splutter the mustard seeds followed by jeera and curry leaves. Add this to the dal mixture in the cooker.

3. Mix well and allow to stand for 3 minutes.

4. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Serve Tamil Nadu Special Paruppu Kadaiyal with chapathi, rice or poori.
