Bread Onion Pakoda or Bread Bhajiyas is one of the simple and tasty evening snack recipe which can be made using bread, onions, gram flour and Indian spices. This can be done in a few minutes and can be served to sudden guests or to the kids after returning from school.

Ingredients for making Bread Onion Pakoda

Bread slices - 6

Gram flour – ½ cup

Rice flour – 2 tsp.       

Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tsp.

Onion – 1 no (finely chopped)

Coriander leaves – Few finely chopped

Green chillies – 2 nos.

Salt as required

Red chilli powder – ½ tsp.

Water as required
     
     Oil as required for deep frying

Method for making Bread Onion Pakoda 

1. Take each bread slice and dip them into water just lightly to make them soft and then take the water dippied slices in a wide bottomed vessel and mix them using your hands  into small pieces.

2. Add gram flour, rice flour, finely chopped onions, green chilli, and coriander leaves.

3.Now add salt to taste, red chilli powder and ginger-garlic paste.

4. Mix all together and then sprinkle water if required.

5. Knead it well just like you make for pakodas.

6. Heat oil in a kadai on medium heat.

7. When oil gets heated, reduce the flame to low to and drop small portions of the pakoda mixture in hot oil using your fingers.

8. Fry the bread pakodas in small batches. It will take only about 2 to 3 minutes to cook.

9. Fry both sides until it turns crispy and light golden brown on all sides.

10. Remove it from the oil and transfer to a tissue paper napkin.

Serve spicy bread pakoras with Pudina chutney or tomato ketchup.
