Hotel Style Keerai Vadai - Special Keerai Vadai -Spinach Vada - Evening Snack Recipe - Lunch side dish Recipe

 Hotel Style Keerai Vadai is popularly known as Special Vadai which will be available in many of the traditional hotels in Tamil Nadu at 11.00 AM. My dad loves this vadai and I have shared the traditional Hotel style Special Keerai Vadai recipe here in this article. You can use any spinach/keerai of your choice. I used finely chopped mulai keerai. This keerai vadai goes well with Sambhar riceKaara Kuzhambu or any variety rice. It can also be taken as tea-time snack. Try this in your kitchen and enjoy with your family.

Hotel Style Special Keerai vadai

Ingredients for making Keerai Masala Vadai

1/2 cup - kadala paruppu / Bengal gram

1/2 cup - Urad dal

1/2 cup - finely chopped onions

1 cup - finely chopped keerai

1/2 - tsp. - saunf

2 - green chillies

2 - red chillies

1/2 inch - ginger

3 cloves - garlic

A sprig of curry leaves

Few Coriander leaves

Salt to taste

Oil for frying.

How to make Special Keerai Vadai

1. Wash the urad dal and channa dal and soak them together in water for 1 hour.

2. Drain the water and grind the dal along with garlic, saunf, ginger, and red chillies to a coarse texture.

 3. Transfer this to a vessel. 

4. Add the finely chopped onions, green chillies, chopped greens (I used Mulai keerai), curry leaves, coriander leaves, salt and mix well. Don't add water.

5. Take a little amount of the mixture and pat the batter into into vada shape in a banana leaf.

6. Heat oil in a kadai and drop the the shaped vadas carefully from the banana leaf deep fry in a medium flame till they become golden brown.
