Ingredients to prepare Garlic Rice
Cooked rice - 1 cup
Garlic - 1/2 cup
Pepper - 3 tbsp.
Cumin - 3 tbsp.
Salt as required
Oil / Ghee as needed
A sprig of curry leaves
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp.
Red chillies - 3 nos.
Method for making Garlic Rice
1. Grind pepper and cumin to a coarse powder in a mixie.
2. Peel the outer skin of garlic and crush all the garlic together in a mortar and pestle.
3. Heat oil in a kadai splutter the mustard seeds and then add the red chillies and curry leaves.
4. Next add the crushed garlic and saute well for 3 minutes.
5. Add the ground pepper and cumin powder and saute well.
6. Next add the cooked rice and mix well till everything gets blended evenly.
7. Serve Hot Garlic rice with any curry or vattal.
Garlic rice tastes good with Vazhakkai varuval or Potato roast.
